Situated on the 40 acre property of a 200 year old former farm, we have spent many years creating an environment where we can live and pursue our creative endeavors.
In 2017 we finished construction of the first (and currently only) Northward Acoustics FTB mastering suite in Canada. And in 2019 we created Owl & Otter as a destination for retreats, special events, and boutique weddings. Since then we have hosted hundreds of guests from all over the world.

J. LaPointe, Emily Dempsey, and a supporting cast of three kids, two cats, two dogs, and two horses.
Emily handles booking for the accomodations and events, while J. is the touchpoint for all things technical related to the studio rentals.

There are four distinct accomodation spaces.
At the top of the private lane is our event and guest space Owl & Otter, suitable for familes and larger groups.
On the edge of Lawrencetown Lake (a salt water tidal estuary connected to the ocean at Lawrencetown Beach) is The Boathouse, cozy accomodations for one or two.
And in between, The Farmhouse - the original homestead blending character and modern touches; and The Lakehouse - a bright, contemporary dwelling overlooking the water.

The studio is available to visting engineers 8-12 weeks out of the year.
The exact timing varies and is somewhat flexible. Best bet is to get in touch, and there’s a very good chance we can make the studio available to fit your schedule.

It is expected that visiting engineers will be working ITB (in-the-box), and bringing their own computer system. The studio offers numerous network, AES, and analog patch points for easy client connections. We'll help you get setup and be on call 24/7 should any technical questions arise.
Once setup you'll experience the immediate benefits of our Northward Acoustics FTB monitoring environment, which leads to big, bold mix decisions that translate perfectly. It's especially suited to music driven by huge low end, where Northward rooms are known as the holy grail environments for producing bass-forward music. -
