Archive Mastering - a Northward FTB build recap (vol. 5)
Now we’re getting to the good stuff. The outer shell is complete and weather tight.
The concrete floor for the inner shell has cured sufficiently to be prepped with an osb layer which makes it easier to finish the cable ducts, and provides a thermal expansion interface for the eventual finished flooring.
At this point we changed over to a new crew (Brannen Craftsman) that will be doing all the detailed inner shell work.
The first crew did an awesome job with the heavy duty foundation and exterior structural parts, and we bid them farewell until much later when they came back to do some more exterior concrete patio and stair work.
Framing, insulation, sheathing, and the inner ceiling structure start to take form. A huge load of insulation arrives and everyone thinks I am crazy and we’ll never use it all. I tell them that’s only a third of it.
